New Day, New Year,

Nope. Not gonna do it. I’m not gonna recap 2020. We were all there. We suffered and survived, (not all of us, sadly). We all know what happened throughout the year. The fires, weather tragedies, the riots, the virus, the deaths, and the political BS. So instead of reliving the turmoil, fear, and grief I’m heading into 2021 mind first.

We must not forget the lessons we learned in 2020, like have an extra package (or two) of toilet paper and the correct way to wear a mask. Over the nose folks, over the nose. We need to take those learned lessons and jump right into the new year.

Oh, wait. You have a question?

What will 2021 bring us?

Simply put, that depends on you. To be blunt: Shit is gonna happen. The corona virus and it’s new sibling, the mutated virus are out there. They aren’t gonna magically disappear over night. No, they’re here for the long haul. So, we must and I mean MUST continue to protect ourselves. Wear the mask correctly, wash your hands, you know all the now what we call, normal.

Plus there’s all the political crap. Biden (might-who knows?) take office. Everybody’s panties are in a wad- doesn’t matter who’s side your on. The promise of some type of upheaval is in the air. We can feel it, pressing upon us like we’re the coyote and an anvil is plummeting directly at us. I’m doubtful if this upheaval will be non-violent, but I hope I’m wrong.

A friend started a conversation the other day if the phrase, “Once everything returns to normal…” There is no return to normal. The old normal is gone, that door has been shut and locked. The new normal is being defined everyday. Changes to the new normal occur all the time. Our freedoms are in jeopardy. No matter which side you’re on. Our lively hood is in danger. Just check your friend, Google, to see which stores and restaurants have closed their doors for good. People are struggling. Except the politicians.

So, you ask again: What will 2021 bring?

I answer again, depends on you. Your belief system. Your truth. Your response or reaction to what happens around you. I’d suggest you stand tall and straight. Don’t allow yourself to wallow in the negative. Mind your own business. Help those in need. Heal and love yourself first, then you can truly heal and love others.
